Your Path to Becoming a Microsoft Certified Trainer

Microsoft updated the MCT entry requirements effective 1 July 2026. The new process focuses on both Microsoft technical certification and verified instructional skills.

New applicants must meet four key requirements:

1. Hold a Qualifying Microsoft Certification

Applicants must have one valid MCT-qualifying certification:

• AB-730 – Microsoft Certified: AI Business Professional

• AB-731 – Microsoft Certified: AI Transformation Leader

Only one of these certifications is required for MCT enrollment, and it must be valid and not expired.

2. Complete the MCT Onboarding Experience

New applicants must complete Microsoft's 3-day MCT Onboarding Experience. The program is designed to verify the instructional skills needed to deliver effective Microsoft training.

The onboarding must be completed before submitting the MCT application. Microsoft does not accept equivalent instructional-skills courses from other providers for this requirement.

3. Accept the MCT Program Agreement

Applicants must review and agree to the MCT Program Agreement, which sets out the terms and conditions of MCT membership.

4. Pay the MCT Program Fee

The MCT is an annual membership program, so applicants must pay the applicable MCT Program fee when enrolling and continue to meet the requirements for annual renewal.
